Wernddu Fechan Bungalow is near Neath, just off the motorway really. It's a detached bungalow on its own land, so it's quiet. You get 10 acres around you, mostly fields and a paddock. The garden at the back is enclosed, which is handy for dogs.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom and a walk-in shower are on the ground floor, and there's level access throughout, so it works if you need wheelchair access or just find stairs difficult. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, newish, and warm. Underfloor heating downstairs.
The kitchen doors open out to the patio and garden, which is nice in good weather. There's a wood burner in the living room. Everything you'd need is there: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, parking.
You're about five miles from Neath town centre and the same from Swansea. For beaches, Aberavon is about 15 minutes away by car. The Gower Peninsula is under 40 minutes. It's a good spot if you want to explore either the coast or the valleys.
The area is good for walking. You've got the waterfalls at Pontneddfechan and the walks around there. Afan Forest Park is about 20 minutes away for mountain biking. The Brecon Beacons are about 45 minutes to an hour's drive if you want bigger hills.
Useful links if you're planning: Visit Wales for general info, and National Trust Wales for their places nearby. The National Botanic Garden of Wales is within half an hour.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's a cot and high chair if you need them.
