The Cider Barn Penstone

The Cider Barn is in Penstone, near Crediton. It's attached to our farmhouse, but it's a separate place. You have your own front door and driveway. It used to be part of the farm, so it's an old building, but it's been done up recently. It’s got a 5 Star rating.

It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms. Two are upstairs, one is downstairs. One of the upstairs ones has beds that can be split into twins if you need that. There’s a bathroom upstairs with a shower over the bath, and a separate shower room downstairs.

The kitchen is upstairs. We did that to get the view over the fields. There's a proper dining table in there. Downstairs is the living room. It’s got a gas stove that looks like a wood burner.

The garden is all yours. It’s got a lawn, seating, and a barbecue. The wood-fired hot tub is out there, at the back looking over the fields. There’s a pizza oven you can hire if you want. You can also fish for trout in the stream on request.

The stairs are typical for an old barn. They’re quite steep. There's a stairgate if you need it.

You can walk straight out onto footpaths from here. There are two paths through our land that start about a hundred metres up the lane. They go through the fields or to the local pubs. The pubs do good food.

Exeter is about half an hour’s drive. Crediton has a train station if you want to go in by rail. Dartmoor is under 40 minutes away. Exmoor is about the same. The south coast, around the Jurassic Coast, is about 50 minutes. The north coast for surfing is maybe an hour.

You can park up to four cars. Dogs are welcome, up to two. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and a highchair. It has WiFi.
