Drummond Lodge is a cabin in the woods near Muthill. It's for two people only, no children. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well put together and comfortable.
You park up and walk a little way along a path through the trees to get to it. It's quiet. You'll see deer and pheasants around if you're still. They live here, so it's best not to be too loud.
The cabin is insulated, so it's warm. There's a wood-burning stove inside and a wood-fired hot tub outside on the deck. They'll have it lit for you when you arrive. The water comes from a spring. The lights are low energy. It's all done thoughtfully.
You look out over the trees towards a castle on the hill. They light it up at night. You can see the Highlands from there on a clear day.
The village of Muthill is a short drive away for a pub or shop. Crieff is about four miles. That's a proper town with supermarkets, places to eat, and some interesting little shops.
Within half an hour you can get to places like Stirling Castle or Doune Castle. The Trossachs are right there for walking. National Trust for Scotland has good information for the area.
What's here: the hot tub, a BBQ, WiFi, parking, bedding and towels are provided. There's a small shop on the site if you forget anything.
