The Wee House

The Wee House is in Muthill, Perthshire. It's exactly that, a wee house. It used to be the chauffeur's accommodation for the big house next door. It sleeps just two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's all on one level, which is handy.

You come straight into the living area. It's open plan, with a kitchen, dining table, and sitting area. Everything you need is there. There's a space for boots and coats between the living area and the bedroom, which stops you trailing mud through. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it.

It's got a 3 Star rating. It's clean, comfortable, and straightforward. It's detached, so you're on your own. You've got your own garden and parking right outside. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.

Crieff is less than ten minutes away by car. It's a good little town with shops, cafes, and places to eat. Drummond Castle Gardens are just outside Crieff. The gardens are impressive, very formal. You can walk from here into Muthill village, it's not far.

If you want to get out, you're right in the middle of Scotland. Stirling, with the castle and the Wallace Monument, is about half an hour's drive. Perth is about the same. The Highlands proper start not much further north from here. Loch Lomond is maybe 45 minutes.

For facilities: all your bedding and towels are included. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. You can have a barbecue in the garden. If you've brought bikes or golf clubs, I can arrange extra storage space for them. No pets, I'm afraid.

For planning: the National Trust for Scotland has many properties nearby, like the House of Dun. VisitScotland for Perthshire is useful for ideas.
