This is the Herdwick Hut. It's on our farm in Twynllanan, up on the Black Mountain in the Brecon Beacons.
It's a glamping hut for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable, but it's still a hut. It's powered by solar. You get lights, WiFi, a gas hob, and a little fridge. There's a wood burner for heat. The bed folds up against the wall to make more space for sitting.
The bathroom is inside, with a toilet and sink. The shower is in a separate, private cabin right outside the hut. Towels and toiletries are provided.
Outside, there's an enclosed garden with a table, chairs, a BBQ and a firepit. We've planted orchards and a herb garden around it. Help yourself to anything that's growing when you're here.
You're right on the edge of the National Park. Footpaths and bridleways start from the farm gate and go straight up onto the Black Mountain. The famous lake, Llyn y Fan Fach, is a walk from here. The views are spectacular. This area is an International Dark Sky Reserve, so on a clear night the stars are incredible.
The village shop and pub are about six miles away in Llanddeusant. The Red Kite Feeding Station is there too. For more choice, Llandeilo is less than half an hour's drive. It's got good shops, cafes, and restaurants.
Inside, it's open plan. We include all bedding and towels. There's on-site parking and bicycle storage. A cot and highchair are available if you need them. No pets, sorry.
If you're planning walks, the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority site is useful. For the Dark Sky Reserve, check their stargazing page.
