The Mill
This is The Mill. It's one of three cottages on our old farm near Maenclochog, in the Preseli Hills. It's a 5 Star place, so it's done up well inside. It's just for two people, one bedroom up in the loft.
The main bit downstairs is all open plan. There's underfloor heating and a wood burner. The stairs up to the bedroom are a ship's ladder style, so they're quite steep. You need to be steady on your feet.
Outside, you've got your own enclosed garden with a patio. There's a wood-fired hot tub there. It takes a few hours to heat up, so you need to plan ahead. You can walk around our small lake if you like. We've got some friendly belted Galloway cows in the field.
You're down a long private track, so it's very quiet. The village of Maenclochog is about two miles away. It has a shop, a cafe, a petrol station, and a pub. Everything else is a drive.
The north Pembrokeshire coast is about 25 minutes by car. Nice beaches like Newport and Poppit Sands are up that way. Tenby, on the south coast, is about 40 minutes. If you're walking, the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park site has all the trail maps.
For a day out, Llys-y-Fran reservoir is close. It's good for walking and they have activities. Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm, and Heatherton are all within half an hour's drive.
Practical things: it's pet friendly for one dog. All bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, and a cot if you need it. Parking is right outside. We have an electric vehicle charger. WiFi is here but it's rural, so it's functional.
