The Tack Room is a converted stable on a farm in Ayston, near Uppingham. It's part of a pair. The other one is called The Old Stables. There's a garden gate between them so you can share the space if you're booking both, but they're separate so you've got your own place.
It's all on one level and there's parking right outside. We've tried to make it accessible. The doorways are wide, sinks are roll under, and there are grab rails in the shower. The design is new, but we've kept a lot of the original wood and stone.
It sleeps two. One bedroom with the bed made up for you, and one bathroom with a walk-in shower. There's a wood burner and logs are provided. The kitchen has everything you'd need. It's got a washing machine and a dishwasher, plus an electric car charger.
It's a working farm. There are fields and cattle all around. The garden is a bit wild, which is nice for watching birds. You can have three dogs. The garden is enclosed.
The local pub is about a mile away. Uppingham is a few minutes' drive. It's a nice market town with good cafes and shops. Oakham and Stamford are close as well.
Rutland Water is the main thing here. It's a ten minute drive. You can walk or cycle the whole way around it. There's sailing, fishing, and a bird reserve there too. It's good for a day out.
For other places to visit, Burghley House is about twenty minutes away. Rockingham Castle is similar. There are a lot of gardens and farm parks nearby if that's your thing.
