Parsnip Place is a one-bedroom cottage for two people. It’s part of a group of four cottages here on the farm, near Manton in Rutland. You're in the grounds of the main house, but you have your own space.
The cottage has a 4 Star rating. It's all on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible, which is handy. The bedroom has an ensuite shower room. It's open plan, so the living, kitchen and dining area is all one room. It's not huge, but it’s fine for a couple. There's a patio and garden area you can use.
You’re right on the edge of Rutland Water. You can walk from the cottage down to the circular path around the water. It’s about 24 miles if you do the whole thing, but obviously you don't have to. You can hire bikes locally if you'd rather cycle it.
The farm is in about 7 acres. You can bring one dog. There's parking right outside.
As for the area, Rutland Water is the main thing. You can do the walking and cycling, or there's sailing, fishing, and a nature reserve. The Rutland Osprey Project is based there if you like birds. The market towns of Oakham and Uppingham are a few miles away for shops and pubs. There's a golf course nearby too.
For a day out, Stamford is about a 20-minute drive. It’s a nice old town with cobbled streets. Burghley House is just outside Stamford and is worth a visit.
Facilities are included: bedding, towels, WiFi, TV, dishwasher, and there's bicycle storage if you need it. The washing machine is shared with the other cottages in a utility room on site.
