Fennel Folly is one of four cottages here at Broccoli Bottom, near Manton in Rutland. It's in the grounds of the main house, set back from the road in about seven acres of fields. You get your own patio garden area. It's very quiet.
The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. Everything is on one level, which is useful.
You can walk to Rutland Water from here in a few minutes. The path for the full circular route is right there if you fancy it. There's a pub in the village, about a five minute walk. It's a proper local.
Rutland Water itself has all the things you'd expect. You can hire bikes, or go for a sail. There's a nature reserve there too, with the osprey project. The details are on the Rutland Water website.
Oakham and Uppingham are both about three miles away. They're nice market towns with some interesting shops. Stamford is further, maybe twenty minutes by car. It's a Georgian town with cobbled streets.
If you want a big day out, Burghley House is about half an hour's drive. The National Trust has several places in the region too, like Woolsthorpe Manor.
For facilities, it has what you'd need. WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
