The Granary is our barn conversion in Braunston. It's a detached place, so no one attached. It sleeps four, two bedrooms, both with kingsize beds. Two bathrooms, one a shower room upstairs, and a separate toilet downstairs.
It's got a 5 Star rating which means it's been finished to a high spec. It's a big space. The main living room has a double-height ceiling with the original beams. There's a wood burner for cooler nights. The kitchen is decent, has a dishwasher. There's a utility room for boots and a washing machine.
The garden is enclosed, which is good for dogs. We take up to two. There's parking right there.
Braunston is quiet. It's a proper rural village. Oakham is the main town, about two miles away. It's a market town, has a castle, shops, a train station. Rutland Water is the big draw. It's about a ten minute drive. You can walk around it, cycle, sail, fish. Lots of people go for the birdwatching at the Rutland Water Nature Reserve.
Other places within half an hour: Stamford and Uppingham are nice for wandering and cafes. Burghley House is near Stamford. Rockingham Castle is that way too. For gardens, Barnsdale is close.
