The Stables is in Leesthorpe. It's a little converted building next to my farmhouse, which is handy for fetching keys and sorting out problems. It's on its own with a garden, and the views are good. You can see fields.
It sleeps two. One double bedroom upstairs. It has a 4 Star rating.
The whole first floor is the bedroom. The ceiling slopes with the roof, so mind your head. It's spacious up there and you get the bed and a little sofa. The en-suite shower room is attached.
Downstairs is an open plan kitchen, living and dining room. It's a decent size for two people. The patio doors open onto the garden, which is enclosed. You can see the countryside from there.
There's on-site parking for one car.
Rutland Water is about eight miles away. It's good for walking, cycling, and water sports in season. Useful links for planning are Rutland Water Park and National Trust Rutland.
The market towns of Oakham and Melton Mowbray are each about four miles away. Oakham has the castle and train station. Melton Mowbray is where the pork pies are from.
Burghley House, about eighteen miles away, is worth a visit.
Facilities wise: includes a dishwasher, WiFi, TV, bedding and towels. It says you can bring two pets. There's local horse riding and fishing available.
