The Stables is here in Leesthorpe. It's a one-bedroom place for two people. Has a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. You can bring two dogs.
It's a converted stable, so it's open plan downstairs. Kitchen, living area, dining space, all in one room. Upstairs, the bedroom takes up the whole first floor. It's a good size. There's an en-suite shower room.
The main thing is the view. It's just fields all around. The garden is enclosed, which is handy with dogs. You get the sun in the afternoon.
You're between Oakham and Melton Mowbray, both about four miles away. Oakham has the basics, a castle, and a train station with links to Leicester, Birmingham, and London. Melton Mowbray is the pork pie place. Good for shops and pubs.
Rutland Water is about a twenty minute drive. That's where everyone goes. You can walk, cycle, sail, or just watch the birds. It's a big reservoir with a path all the way round.
Further afield, within half an hour or so, you've got places like Burghley House near Stamford, or Rockingham Castle.
For facilities, it's got what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, parking. Bedding and towels are included. The local area is good for walking, fishing, and there's horse riding nearby.
