This is Carrot Cottage. It's one of four cottages here, all named after vegetables. I own them all. They're in the grounds of our main house, set in about seven acres. You're in Manton, which is basically Rutland Water's doorstep.
The cottage sleeps six. That's with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a four-star place, which is comfortable and well looked after. It's open plan downstairs.
The garden is yours to use and it's enclosed. There's parking right outside. You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included, and there's Wi-Fi and a TV.
You can walk straight out onto the footpath that goes around Rutland Water. It's a 24-mile loop if you fancy the whole thing. There's a village pub on the way to the water, which is handy.
Rutland Water itself has everything: sailing, fishing, bike hire, a nature reserve. The Rutland Osprey Project is based there. The towns of Oakham and Uppingham are about three miles away for shops and cafes.
If you're here for a day out, Burghley House is about a 25-minute drive. Stamford, which is a nice old town, is about 20 minutes away. For other local walks and ideas, the Rutland Water park site has all the details on activities.
The other cottages here can be booked together if you're a bigger group.
