Carrot Cottage is ours. It's one of four cottages on our land here in Manton, Rutland. The cottage is next to the others but you've got your own enclosed garden.
It sleeps six. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so comfortable and in good order. The bedrooms are both upstairs. There's one double and one with bunk beds.
You can bring a dog. We ask that they stay off the furniture and you clean up after them.
We're about seven minutes walk from Rutland Water. The path from the village takes you straight onto the circular track around it. It's 24 miles if you fancy the whole thing. There's a pub in Manton you pass on the way.
The water is the main thing here. You can hire bikes easily. Sailing, fishing, all sorts. The nature reserve is good for birdwatching, especially for the ospreys. There's more information on the Rutland Water site.
Oakham and Uppingham are both about three miles away. They're nice little market towns. Stamford is about twelve miles, a bit bigger with older buildings.
The cottage has parking, wifi, a TV, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's space for bikes. The garden has a patio and is fully enclosed.
If you're looking for other things to do, National Trust East Midlands has details on places like Belvoir Castle which is about a half hour drive.
