Big Drift Barn : Caldecott

Big Drift Barn is one of two barns here, semi-detached from the other one. It's on our crop farm on the edge of Rutland. The views are over the fields, which is nice.

It sleeps eleven in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, one of which is a wet room on the ground floor, so it's okay for someone who can't do stairs. The stairs themselves are fine. The main living space is all open plan, so everyone can be together. There's a wood burner. The rating is 5 Star which means it's a quality finish.

You have your own enclosed garden with seating. The bi-fold doors open right out onto it. There's a private hot tub there too, looking out at the view. Our woodland is right behind the property, and you're welcome to have a campfire there, or even camp out for a night if you fancy it.

The village of Caldecott is about half a mile away. There's a pub and restaurant about the same distance. For a shop, you'll need to go about a mile and a half to Rockingham.

It's a good spot for getting out. Eyebrook Reservoir is on the border for fishing. Rutland Water is about eight miles. That's got sailing, cycling, and a nature reserve. There are some big historic houses nearby if that's your sort of thing. Kirby Hall is National Trust. Rockingham Castle is close, and Burghley House isn't far. The market towns are Uppingham, four miles away, and Oakham, ten miles.

You can bring up to two dogs. Bedding is included. There's parking right here. The other barn can be booked with this one if you need space for more people.
