Fairchild's Barn

Fairchild's Barn is on our farm in Caldecott. It's a barn conversion. We've renovated it ourselves. It sleeps eleven people in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. We've given it a 5 Star rating because it's well equipped and comfortable.

It's detached on one side, attached to our other barn conversion on the other. You have your own garden with a private hot tub. The view from it is over our farmland towards Rutland Water. The main living area is open plan with a wood burner. It works well for groups.

The stairs are a normal flight. There's a bedroom and a wet room on the ground floor, which is helpful if stairs are difficult. The entrance has level access.

We live on a working arable farm. You'll see tractors. Behind the barns is a bit of woodland. You're welcome to have a campfire there, or even camp out for a night if you fancy it.

The village of Caldecott is about a ten minute walk. There's a pub there that does food. For shops, you'll need to drive to Uppingham, which is about four miles. It's a nice market town.

Rutland Water is about eight miles away. You can cycle or walk around it, or do watersports. It's a good day out. For a walk closer by, the Eyebrook Reservoir is on the edge of the village.

There are several historic houses nearby. Rockingham Castle is about a mile and a half away. Lyveden and Kirby Hall are both National Trust properties and are within half an hour. Burghley House is near Stamford, which is about a twenty minute drive.

Facilities: everything's included. Wifi, bedding, electricity. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, and parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs.

If you have a bigger group, you can book Fairchild's Barn together with Big Drift Barn next door. Together they sleep sixteen.
