Fairchild's Barn
Fairchild's Barn is here in Caldecott, in Rutland. It's a converted barn, semi-detached. If you book the whole place, you get the garden to yourselves. There's a hot tub out there.
It sleeps up to eleven people. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a good standard. One of the bedrooms and a wet room are on the ground floor, which is handy if stairs are a problem for anyone.
The barn is on our farm. Out the back, our woodland starts. You're welcome to have a campfire there, or even camp out in it for a night if you fancy it.
There's a pub that does food about half a mile away in the village. For shops, you'll need to go about a mile and a half to Rockingham.
Rutland Water is about eight miles away. That's where all the sailing and cycle paths are. The Eyebrook Reservoir is closer, just outside the village, if you're into fishing.
A few places for days out: Rockingham Castle is very close. Kirby Hall is a National Trust site, an old Elizabethan house with peacocks in the garden. The market towns of Uppingham and Oakham are nice for a wander and some lunch.
In terms of what's here: there's a wood burner, a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, all the bedding, and parking. It's pet friendly, up to two dogs.
There's another barn next door, Big Drift Barn. You can book both together if you've got a bigger group.
