Caddleton Farmhouse is on the Ardmaddy estate near Balvicar. It's a big house that sleeps 12 people.
It's a 4 Star property, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. There are five bedrooms and four bathrooms. It's been adapted for wheelchair use, with a ground floor wet room, wide doorways, and low worktops in the kitchen.
The living room has an open fire. There's a big conservatory that looks out over the garden and the sea. You can see Seil Sound from there. The garden is enclosed.
Inside, there's a games room with a pool table and table tennis. Outside, guests can use the estate's tennis court. You can also hire boats from the estate, or fish on the hill loch.
The house is set back from the main castle grounds. The castle gardens are open to the public sometimes through the Scotland's Gardens Scheme.
For a shop or a proper meal out, you'll need to drive. The nearest pub is about two and a half miles away. Oban is 12 miles. It's got everything: shops, restaurants, and the ferry terminal for trips to the islands like Mull and Iona.
Within half an hour you can be in Oban, or at the Bonawe Historic Furnace. Kilmartin Glen, for the ancient ruins, is about a 40-minute drive. The National Nature Reserves site has information on the local area.
Facilities: all the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a BBQ. You can bring up to three dogs. We provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them.
