Forest Cottage

Forest Cottage is on the Ardmaddy Estate near Balvicar, on the Isle of Seil. It's a single-storey cottage, which is good if you don't want stairs. It overlooks a field that goes right down to the sea.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and spacious, not super modern but well looked after. The living room is a good size and there's a sun porch with a view over the water.

You're on a big estate. The castle gardens are open to the public sometimes and are nice to walk around. You can see a lot of wildlife from the cottage, seals and birds mostly. Sometimes porpoises or otters. You can use the estate's tennis court and there's fishing on the hill loch if that's your thing.

The local pub is about two and a half miles away in Balvicar. For a proper shop, you need to go to Oban, which is about twelve miles. Oban has everything, good restaurants, supermarkets, and the ferries to the islands.

If you want to get out on the water, you can hire boats from the estate. For walking, you've got forest tracks right from the door. Oban is the main hub for boat trips to Mull, Iona, and places like that. In under half an hour you can be in Oban or starting a walk in that sort of scenery.

What's here: Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, wifi. The parking is right outside. Bedding is included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. The garden is enclosed. You can bring up to two dogs.
