Degnish Farmhouse
Degnish Farmhouse is on our farm, about five miles outside Melfort. It's a detached house, set on its own. The main thing is the view. It looks straight out over Loch Melfort to the islands. It's south facing, so you get the sun.
It sleeps ten. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms. One bathroom is a wet room on the ground floor. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well equipped and comfortable. It's all double glazed and has underfloor heating.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got kids or dogs. You can bring up to three dogs. There's a covered area outside with a BBQ. You can park right there.
You're on a working farm, so there's wildlife about. We see otters and seals. You can walk along the coast from the house. For fishing, we have a hill loch on the estate you can use. Just ask and we'll sort it.
The shop and the nearest pub are in Melfort, about five miles away. Oban is a nice drive up the coast, maybe half an hour. That's where you get ferries to the islands like Mull. Inveraray Castle is about 40 minutes by car. The Kilmartin Glen is closer, maybe 25 minutes, if you like old stones and history.
On the facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, wifi. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. There's also a games room. The Ardmaddy estate is a few miles over the hill, and you can use their tennis court and visit their gardens for free.
