Tigh An Aighear is out in Arduaine. It’s a detached cottage, all on one level, which is handy. The main thing is the view. You look straight out over Loch Melfort towards Shuna, Scarba, and Jura.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s a 4 Star, so it’s comfortable and everything works as it should.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have dogs. Speaking of which, you can bring two. The woodburning stove is nice for the evenings, and there's parking right there.
There’s a hotel down the road, about 300 yards. They do food. A proper shop is in Craobh Haven, about a five minute drive south.
You can walk down to the Arduaine Garden from the cottage. The view from their coastal viewpoint is something else. Craobh Haven has wildlife boat trips that go out to the Gulf of Corryvreckan, if you want to see the whirlpool.
Oban is about half an hour’s drive up the coast. It’s a busy harbour town with ferries to the islands. Good for a day out, especially if you like seafood.
Other directions, you’ve got Kilmartin Glen for ancient monuments, and the Crinan Canal. Useful links for planning: National Trust for Scotland and Scottish Wildlife Trust.
Facilities: Washing machine, towels and bedding included, WiFi, TV. There's bicycle storage if you bring them.
