Tigh An Aighear

Tigh An Aighear is in Arduaine. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on one level. That makes it easy.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and has everything you need. The main thing is the view. You look straight out over Loch Melfort towards Shuna and Jura. It's a proper view, not just a glimpse.

There's a hotel with a restaurant about five minutes' walk away. They do decent food. For a shop, you need to drive to Craobh Haven, which is about five minutes. It's a sailing village with a small store.

The Arduaine Garden is right on the doorstep. It's National Trust for Scotland. You can walk there in a couple of minutes. Good for a wander and the viewpoint looks out to sea.

From Craobh Haven, there are boat trips. They go out to see wildlife and to the Corryvreckan whirlpool. It's worth doing. Oban is about half an hour north by car. That's where you go for bigger shops, lots of restaurants, and the ferries to the islands. It's busy but it has everything.

The other way, south towards Lochgilphead, you pass Kilmartin Glen. It's full of old standing stones and burial sites. The Crinan Canal is there too. You can walk along it.

Facilities wise: it has a woodburning stove, parking, a washing machine, and an enclosed garden. WiFi and TV are there. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs.
