Catkin Lodge

Catkin Lodge is in Lunga, on the Craignish peninsula in Argyll. It’s a detached house on a hill, so the views out over the water are really good. It looks towards Mull and the Corryvreckan.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. They’ve all got those views. The beds can be arranged as twins or doubles, you just need to ask. There’s one main bathroom which has a sauna, a bath, and a separate shower. There's also a separate toilet.

The living space is open plan, with a wood burner. Patio doors open onto a big deck, which is the best spot. There’s a dishwasher and a washing machine. It has a 3 Star rating, so it’s comfortable and well-equipped but not luxury. The entrance is wheelchair accessible and there’s an electric vehicle charger.

You can bring up to two dogs. There’s parking for three cars.

It’s a five minute walk down to the shore. There’s a local pub and restaurant about three quarters of a mile away. For basics, Craobh Haven is a mile and a half walk down the track. It has a small shop, a craft and coffee shop, and a launderette.

If you want to explore, Ardfern is about five miles by road. It’s got a village shop, a café, a pub, and a hotel. You can organise sailing or boat trips from there. Oban is about a 20 minute drive north. It’s got all the shops, restaurants, a cinema, and a leisure centre. To the south, Kilmartin Glen is about nine miles away for history and standing stones. Lochgilphead, the main town, is about 20 minutes south.
