Barrach is a house near Ardfern in Argyll. It's detached and quite new, built in 2021. It's near my place but you get it to yourselves.
It sleeps six. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The rating is 4 Star. One bedroom is downstairs. That one can be a king-size bed or two singles. Upstairs, there's another king-size and two small beds built into the wall under the eaves, good for kids. The main living area has a high ceiling and big doors that go out to the garden. There's a wood burner. You can bring up to two dogs.
The house is about a mile and a half outside Ardfern village. You can walk to the shore of Loch Craignish from the house. There's a track up Barr Mor hill, takes about fifteen minutes, and the view from the top is very good.
Ardfern has a pub that does food, a village shop and post office, a cafe, and a marina. You can arrange fishing, sailing, or riding nearby.
Kilmartin Glen is about seven miles away. That's where all the old standing stones and burial sites are. The museum there is worth a visit. The Moine Mhor nature reserve is right next to it.
Lochgilphead is 16 miles for bigger shops. Oban is about 25 miles if you want a busier day out or ferries to the islands. Inveraray is a similar drive to the east.
For facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, a cot and highchair if you need them, bedding and towels are included, and there's parking. The garden is enclosed. You can have a barbecue.
