Riverside

This place is called Riverside. It's a bungalow in Kilmelford, Argyll. Detached, so no neighbours attached to you. You get a garden and a patio out the front. It looks onto the river, which is just a small one here, more of a burn.

It sleeps six. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy with a group. One has a shower, the other a bath. It's got a 3 Star rating. Everything works, it's clean and comfortable. It's not fancy.

Kilmelford is quiet. The village has a pub, a shop with a post office, and a cafe. All about a ten-minute walk. The pub does food. You can bring a boat down to the yacht haven if you have one.

Oban is about a twenty-minute drive north. That's where you'll find bigger supermarkets, a cinema, a leisure centre, and more places to eat. The ferry terminal is there too, for going over to Mull or other islands.

If you're interested in old history, Kilmartin Glen is a short drive away. There are hundreds of ancient sites there. The National Trust for Scotland has information.

For walks, the Crinan Canal or the Knapdale forest are good. You might see seals or deer. Eagles sometimes. The coast around here is all sea lochs and inlets.

What's in the house: it's got a wood-burning stove, TV, WiFi, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs.
