This is 'Riverside' in Kilmelford. It's a bungalow, which means no stairs inside, which is handy. It's detached, so you've got your own space. The name's accurate, it's right by the river.
It sleeps six people in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps when everyone's trying to get out. It's a 3 Star place. Everything works and it's clean, but it's not a show home. It's just a house.
You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed, which is good for that. There's a wood burning stove for the cooler evenings, and a BBQ outside if the weather's right.
Kilmelford itself is small. There's a pub, a shop with a post office, and a café, all a couple of minutes walk away. The pub serves food. If you've brought a boat, the yacht haven is just along the road.
For more choice, Oban's about a 15-minute drive north. It's got bigger shops, a cinema, a leisure centre, and plenty of restaurants, especially for seafood. The ferry terminal there goes out to Mull, Iona, and the other islands.
In the other direction, you've got Kilmartin Glen. It's full of ancient standing stones and burial sites. Further south, the Crinan Canal is nice for a walk and you can watch the boats going through the locks.
The wildlife around here is the main thing. You'll see seals regularly. If you're out on the water or looking from the coast, you might spot porpoises or dolphins. Sea eagles are around too.
For facilities, it's got what you'd need: WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, dishwasher, and parking for a couple of cars. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair.
