The Tack Room is one of two converted barns on our property. It's semi-detached, so you'll share a wall with the Boot Room next door. Your own bit is totally private though. It's got two bedrooms, both with their own bathroom. Sleeps four. It's a five star place, which means it's done up to a high standard and everything is new.
The main room downstairs is open plan. Tile floors, a wood burner. It gets a good view out the back over our lake and the woods. The two bedrooms are upstairs. Both have king size beds. Useful if two couples are sharing.
Outside, there's a patio and a bit of enclosed lawn. It's all yours. Good if you're bringing dogs, we allow two. There's a footpath from the garden that goes straight out into the fields and joins a bridleway. You can walk to Donington-on-Bain village in about twenty minutes. They've got a tearoom, a small shop, and a pub.
For a proper day out, Lincoln is about half an hour's drive. The cathedral and castle are worth seeing. The Visit Lincoln site has all the details. If you want the coast, Skegness and Mablethorpe are east, maybe 45 minutes. The local market towns are Horncastle and Louth, both about a 15 minute drive.
There's a lockable bike store here if you want to bring cycles. The Lincolnshire Wolds are good for riding. Horses can be arranged locally too. Golf course is a few miles away.
Facilities are all here: washing machine, dishwasher, TV, bedding and towels included. Parking is right outside. There's a hot tub on the patio for the Tack Room.
If you're planning walks or want to know more about the area, the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust and the Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service sites are useful.
