Lily Lodge

Lily Lodge is in Lower Diabaig on the west coast. It's a detached house that sleeps ten people across five bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's done up to a high spec. Everything is new and well-finished.

The main living area is open plan, with big windows and a sun room looking out over the sea. The views are good from most rooms. You can see the bay and the mountains. There's also a separate bothy in the grounds that sleeps two extra people, if you need it.

The stairs are fine, but one of the double bedrooms is on the ground floor along with a twin room and a shower room. That's useful if someone doesn't want to go upstairs. The other two main bedrooms are upstairs, both with their own bathrooms, and there's a smaller double bedroom up there too.

You're right on the coast. The road in is single track and the scenery is dramatic. It's a proper remote Highland spot. The village is just a few houses around a curved pier.

There's a restaurant about 500 yards away. The nearest proper shop is nine miles away in Kinlochewe, and the nearest pub is 11 miles, so you'll want to bring your food shopping with you. The house has a dishwasher and a washing machine.

For things to do, walking is the main thing. Torridon is about 20 minutes down the road for serious mountain walks. The Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve is about a half hour drive, on the side of Loch Maree. Gairloch is to the north, maybe 40 minutes. The Applecross Peninsula is to the south, you can see it from the house. The road over there is the famous Bealach na Bà pass.

The garden is enclosed. There's parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
