Tigh An Iasgair is in Ardheslaig, which is on the Applecross Peninsula. It's a detached house, so you're on your own up there. The name means The Fisherman's House.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's an architect-designed place, so it feels quite modern inside. Very light, with high ceilings and patio doors. There's an underfloor heating system run by a ground source heat pump.
The main thing is the view. It's built into a hillside, looking out over water and mountains. The patio doors open onto a paved area right there. The grounds go down to the shore.
There's a nice beach about four minutes walk away, at the end of Fearnbeg village. It's sheltered.
The nearest shop and pub is in Applecross, about seven miles away. There's a restaurant there too. You can get there two ways. One is the coastal road from Shieldaig, which is a gentler drive. The other is over the Bealach na Bà, the pass. That's the highest road in Britain. The views are incredible, but it's very steep and winding. Check if it's open before you set out, especially in winter.
This is a good area for walking, kayaking, and cycling. You might see otters, eagles, that sort of thing. The Torridon hills are nearby for more serious walking or climbing.
For facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, and parking. Bedding is included. No pets.
