Fearnmore Church

Fearnmore Church is a holiday cottage in Ardheslaig, on the Applecross peninsula. It's a converted church.
It’s for two people. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It’s got a 4 Star rating, so the finish is good. It’s comfortable.

The setting is the main thing. You’ve got 21 acres of your own land, which is mostly wild. It slopes down to Loch Torridon.
The views are across the water to Skye one way, and towards the Torridon mountains the other. You can see white-tailed eagles sometimes. There are pine martens around, and otters along the shore.

The main living room has a high, vaulted ceiling and a big window facing the mountains. There’s an open fire.
The bedroom is on a mezzanine above this room. It’s a double bed. There are roof windows up there.
The kitchen is at the back. It’s a decent size with a table. The bathroom has a bath and a separate shower.

It feels very private. You can’t see any other houses. The road outside is very quiet.
The owner usually comes to say hello on your first evening. They’ll tell you about the area.

Applecross village is about 13 miles away. That’s where the shop is, and the inn and restaurant. For a beach, the one at Sand is closer, about 3 miles.
If you want to go further, the Torridon area is about a 40 minute drive. Skye is about an hour and a half for a day trip.
But you don’t really need to leave. There are walks right from the door, along the shore or up the hill.

Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. The garden is enclosed. No pets.
