Rubha Lodge is in Slideag, right next to Loch Shieldaig. It's a detached house, so no one's attached to you.
From the main front windows you look straight out over the loch to the sea. You'll see seals on the rocks most days, and if you're lucky, an otter. It's quiet here.
The house sleeps five. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's a 5 Star place, so it's well kitted out and comfortable. The road to get to it is a short, rough track. It's fine for normal cars, just take it slow.
The village of Shieldaig is about half a mile back up the track. There's a pub and a couple of shops there. For a meal out, the nearest good restaurant is about a 15 minute drive.
The Torridon mountains are right there if you want to walk or climb. You can get boat trips from Shieldaig harbour out to the islands on a new catamaran.
If you fancy a drive, Plockton village is about 30 minutes away. Applecross is worth the trip, but be aware the road over the pass is single track with big hills. The views are incredible though. The Isle of Skye is about an hour's drive, over the bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh.
What's here: parking right outside, a wood burning stove, WiFi, a washing machine and dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a patio and garden. No pets, sorry.
