Stable Cottage

Stable Cottage is on the Torridon Estate in Inveralligin. It used to be a stable. It's for six people.

There are three bedrooms. One double downstairs with a bathroom. Upstairs, there's a big bedroom with its own shower and a dressing area, and a twin room. The stairs are okay, but maybe watch your head if you're tall.

Downstairs it's all one room: kitchen, living area, dining table. There's an open fire. It gets the morning sun. Outside, there's a gravel seating area with a table.

The 4 Star rating means it's well looked after. It feels solid. Everything works. Bedding and towels are there.

The main thing is the estate. You have the run of 125 acres. There are paths down to the lochside. You'll see deer. There's a waterfall a five minute walk from the cottage, and the Venus pools are there if you're brave enough for a dip. You can bring kayaks or a small boat if you have one.

Torridon village is two miles down the road. There's a shop for basics and a pub that does food. If you need anything else, the estate owners live on site and are helpful.

It's good for walking. You're right on the edge of the wild stuff. For planning, Walkhighlands has routes. The National Trust look after the Torridon mountains and Ben Alligin, which are right there. Loch Maree is about a 20 minute drive.

No pets, sorry. There's parking right outside.
