Lochside Cottage

Lochside Cottage is in Inveralligin, which is on the edge of Loch Torridon. It's a detached place, so you're on your own. The garden is yours and it goes right down to the lochside. The view from the windows is just the water and the hills. It's quiet.

It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is useful. One bedroom is on the ground floor and has its own shower room. The main bedroom is upstairs. The bed in there is raised up so you can see the loch from it. The bath is like that too. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well sorted.

The house is laid out in an open plan shape on the ground floor. There's a wood burning stove for cooler evenings. You have your own hot tub in the garden.

It's on the Torridon Estate. You're free to walk around the grounds, which are about 125 acres. There are red deer around. You can walk to a waterfall on the estate. If you have a boat or kayak, you can bring it and use it on the loch from the estate's shore.

The village of Torridon is two miles down the road. It has a shop and a pub that does meals.

For a bigger day out, Applecross is about a 45 minute drive over the Bealach na Bà pass. The mountain scenery around here is what it's all about. Useful links if you're planning: National Trust for Scotland at Torridon and Walkhighlands for Torridon walks.
