Lochside Cottage is in Inveralligin, right on the shore of Loch Torridon. It's a detached house. You have your own garden and a private hot tub.
The place sleeps four in two bedrooms, and both bedrooms have their own bathroom. It's a 4 Star property, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The master bedroom is upstairs. The bed is on a raised platform so you can see the loch from it. The bath is up there too, for the same reason. The stairs are wooden and a bit steeper than modern ones, which is worth knowing.
Downstairs is all open plan, in a sort of horseshoe shape around the fire. The kitchen is modern. All the windows look straight out at the loch. It's a very quiet spot.
You're on the Torridon Estate, so you can walk around their 125 acres of land. There are red deer about. You can swim in the pools on the estate if you're brave enough. The estate owners are nearby if you need anything, and you can bring kayaks or a small boat.
The village of Torridon is two miles along the road. It has a small shop and a pub that does meals.
For a bigger day out, Gairloch is about half an hour's drive north. It has more shops, a beach, and a museum. Applecross is a spectacular drive over the pass, also around 30 minutes. The Beinn Eighe nature reserve is close by for walking.
Facilities: everything's included. Washing machine, dishwasher, bedding and towels. WiFi is okay but it's the countryside, so it's not super fast. Parking for two cars. Pets are welcome.
