The Haven

The Haven is on Holy Island. You need to check the tide times to get here, so just remember you can't come and go whenever you want. It's a terraced cottage in the village, so everything's close. You have a garden to yourselves.

It sleeps six, but it's got two bedrooms and one bathroom. There's a sofa bed in the living room for the extra two people. It's a four-star place, so it's been done up nicely.

The main thing is the view from the living room window. You look out over the garden towards Lindisfarne Castle. It's a National Trust place. The bathroom's been refurbished with a freestanding bath and a rainfall shower.

The shop, pub and a restaurant are about fifty yards away. The beach is five minutes walk. For sea swimming, you'd probably head up the coast to the beaches near Bamburgh.

The facilities are all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, bedding included, WiFi. There's a stairgate and a cot. It says it has a wheelchair accessible entrance, but it's still a cottage so you might want to check that specifically.

You can bring two dogs.

For things to do, the whole island is the point. You walk up to the castle or the priory ruins. The coast path is right there. A mainland drive gets you to Bamburgh Castle or the Farne Islands boat trips from Seahouses within half an hour. For general Northumberland Coast information, Northumberland Coast AONB is a good site.
