The Granary

The Granary is on Holy Island. That means you have to check the tide times to get across the causeway. It's a 500 year old stone building, made from bits of the old priory. It sleeps eight, with four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kept.

It's right in St Cuthbert's Square, so you're in the middle of the village. There's no garden, but you have the whole island as your outside space. The ceilings are low with old boat masts as beams.

The local shop is about a quarter of a mile away for basics. The pub is less than 200 yards. The beach is a five minute walk. You can see the sea, the castle, and the priory ruins from the windows.

Things to do here are mainly walking and birdwatching. The whole island is a National Nature Reserve. You'll see lots of birds and the grey seals.

If you drive off the island, Berwick-upon-Tweed is about 13 miles. Bamburgh Castle is 15 miles. Seahouses, where you get boats to the Farne Islands, is 19 miles. The Northumberland National Park and Cheviot Hills are within half an hour for walking.

Inside, there's a woodburning stove, wifi, a TV, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's bike storage. No pets, I'm afraid.
