Lee Cottage is on Holy Island, in Northumberland. It's a one bedroom cottage that sleeps three. There's a Z-bed for a third person, which is fine for a child, but it's really a place for two.
It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and comfortable but not luxury. It's a listed fisherman's cottage, so the walls are thick and the windows are small. You get charm, not space.
The kitchen is open plan with a proper dining table. There's a dishwasher, a washing machine, and WiFi. The bathroom has a walk-in shower. Outside is an enclosed patio area with a bench and a BBQ. Parking is right there.
You can bring one dog. Bedding is included.
The cottage is about five minutes' walk from the harbour and the beach. There's a shop 200 yards away and a couple of pubs that do food about 500 yards away.
You need to check the tide times to drive on and off the island. The causeway floods twice a day. They have the times at the Northumberland County Council website. Plan around it.
On the island, you've got Lindisfarne Priory and the castle. The castle is run by the National Trust. The beaches are long and empty, good for walking the dog.
Once you're off the island, Bamburgh Castle is about 20 minutes' drive. Seahouses, where you can get boat trips out to the Farne Islands to see the seals and puffins, is about the same. Alnwick Castle is maybe 40 minutes away.
There's a book library in the cottage with stuff about the island's history, and some old postcards. It's quiet. When the tide's in, it's very quiet.
