The Toll House is in Pecket Well, up above Hebden Bridge. It's an old toll house, so it's a funny little building on its own by the road. It's Grade II listed. Sleeps two, one bedroom upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The design is quite industrial and modern inside, which works with the old stone. There's the original stone fireplace and they've kept the old safe in the wall. The kitchen is small but clever, it has a dishwasher and a washing machine. The sink is a copper pan. The living room has stone floors and the view out over the valley is really good, especially in the morning.
Upstairs, the bed has Egyptian cotton sheets. The towels are provided. The shower is a walk-in one.
The stairs are steep. They're the original cottage stairs. You get used to them.
You're right in the countryside here. Out the door and you can walk for miles. The Calderdale Way passes close by. You're basically on the edge of Hardcastle Crags, which is National Trust woodland. Great for a proper walk with a pub at the end.
There's a dog-friendly pub about a two-minute walk down the lane. They serve food. The nearest shop is about a mile away, in Heptonstall village.
Hebden Bridge is two miles down the hill. It's a proper market town, lots of independent shops and cafes. The train station there goes direct to Manchester and Leeds. Heptonstall village is a ten-minute drive, it's historic and up on the hill. Haworth, where the Brontës lived, is about twenty minutes by car. The Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District national parks are both roughly an hour's drive if you want to explore further.
Facilities: it's detached, so no neighbours attached. There's parking right outside. TV, WiFi, all utilities included. It says pets are allowed, up to two.
