Lee Cottage is a detached stone cottage near Hebden Bridge. It sits between the town and Heptonstall, up a quiet lane. The views over the fields are good. It's in the grounds of our house, but it's separate and you have your own garden. It gets the sun in the evening.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been modernised but it's still a solid old cottage. The description mentions open, steep stairs. They are cottage stairs, so watch your head in a couple of places.
You can walk straight out into the countryside from the door. It joins onto the Hardcastle Crags estate, which is National Trust. Lots of walking there, through the woods and by the river. You can pick up the Pennine Way and Calderdale Way from nearby.
Hebden Bridge is about a mile and a half. It's got cafes, pubs, and a proper independent cinema. Heptonstall village is the other way, up the hill. It's old and hasn't changed much, with a historic church and a good pub.
Within half an hour you can drive into the Peak District National Park or parts of the Yorkshire Dales. Haworth, for the Brontë Parsonage, is about a 20 minute drive.
For facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. We accept up to two dogs.
