Tacker Street Cottage

Tacker Street Cottage is in Rodhuish, which is a small village on the edge of Exmoor. It's semi-detached, part of a pair. You get to it over a small wooden bridge that crosses a stream. The stream runs through the neighbour's garden, not yours. It's a nice sound.

The garden's good. It's enclosed and looks out onto trees and fields. There's a patio with a table and a barbecue.

It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxury. The stairs are steep, like most cottages round here.

There's a pub about a quarter of a mile away. It serves food. The nearest shop is half a mile.

You're right on the edge of Exmoor. You can walk straight out into the lanes and woods. You'll see the ponies. For the coast, Minehead and Blue Anchor Bay are about a fifteen minute drive. Watchet harbour is a bit closer. Dunster with its castle is maybe twenty minutes away. The West Somerset Railway is good for a trip.

The facilities are what you'd expect: woodburning stove, washing machine, cot. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs. There's parking for two cars.

If you're planning walks or days out, these sites are useful: Exmoor National Park and National Trust Dunster Castle.
