Dove Cottage is in Minehead, on the edge of the town, in a row of old barns they call The Hopcott. It sleeps four. There are three bedrooms, but one is quite small with bunk beds, so it's better for kids. There's one bathroom with a shower.
You can park right outside the cottage. Inside, it's got a washing machine, Wi-Fi, and the TV works fine. We include all the bedding and towels. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
The back door opens onto a small private patio with a table and chairs. It gets the sun in the evening. You're not overlooked there.
There's a local shop about five minutes' walk away. The pub is about ten minutes. They do food. The main beach in Minehead is about a twenty minute walk, maybe a bit more. It's a long, sandy beach with a promenade.
The most important thing here is the walking. You're on the edge of Exmoor and the South West Coast Path starts in Minehead. That's your main reason to come. You can walk west along the coast, or head straight up onto the moor inland.
If you drive, Lynton and Lynmouth are about twenty minutes away along the coast road. The cliff railway between them is worth seeing. Dunster Castle is about the same drive in the other direction. Dunster has a beach too. Blue Anchor Bay is another sandy beach, about a fifteen minute drive.
That's about it. It's a good base if you want to walk and explore Exmoor and the coast.
