Craigmore Cottage

It's called Craigmore Cottage. It's in Birnam, which is just outside Dunkeld in Perthshire.

It's a stone cottage that sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It’s detached. You get the garden to yourself.

There's a woodburning stove in the main room. It's the original fireplace. That's the main source of heat, so you'll need to use it. The kitchen is modern and has everything you need.

There's a double bedroom on the ground floor with its own bathroom. Upstairs is a twin room and another bathroom. Watch your head upstairs, the ceilings are low in places. It's fine, you just need to remember.

You can bring one dog. There's a stairgate, a cot, and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking, WiFi, and a washing machine.

You're right in Birnam Wood. You can walk out the door and straight onto the paths. The famous Hermitage walk is a few minutes away. Dunkeld is a short walk over the bridge. There are shops, a couple of cafes, and some good pubs. Loch of the Lowes is nearby for a walk and to see the ospreys.

You're well placed for getting about. The train station is in Birnam if you want to go to Perth or further into the Highlands without driving. Pitlochry is about 15 minutes north by car. The National Trust for Scotland has a lot of properties and walks in the area.

That's about it. It's a good base. Quiet, but not cut off.
