The Coach House is in Birnam, near Dunkeld. It's detached, on a quiet private road. You get your own garden, which is enclosed. It’s part of our grounds, so we're next door if you need anything. The house used to be the coach house for Heath Park. Beatrix Potter stayed there in the 1890s, which is a nice bit of history.
It sleeps three. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious. The stairs are a standard cottage staircase.
There's a shop and a pub about ten minutes' walk away. The pub does food. Dunkeld train station is even closer, maybe five minutes walk. That makes it easy if you're arriving by train or want to go further afield.
You're right on the edge of things here. It's a five minute walk into Dunkeld, which has more places to eat and a cathedral. For walking, you can step straight out onto paths. The Birnam Oak is nearby. You can walk up the Hermitage woods to see the waterfall, or along the River Tay.
If you drive, there's a lot within half an hour. You've got several castles, like Blair Castle and Huntingtower. Scone Palace is about 25 minutes away. There are distilleries too, like the Blair Athol Distillery in Pitlochry. Pitlochry itself is about fifteen minutes up the road. The whole area is good for cycling, fishing, and golf.
For facilities, it's got what you'd expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you're bringing a little one. You can bring one well-behaved dog. Bedding and towels are included.
