The Coach House is in Birnam, just outside Dunkeld. It's a detached stone cottage that used to be the coach house for the big house next door. That house, Heath Park, has a connection to Beatrix Potter from the 1890s. The cottage is up on a quiet private road, so it's peaceful. You've got your own enclosed garden, which is part of the wider grounds.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious. The stairs are steep and a bit narrow. They're cottage stairs. We've put a stairgate at the top.
You're in a Victorian conservation village. There's a shop and a pub about 600 yards away. The Dunkeld and Birnam train station is even closer, maybe 400 yards, so the transport links are very good if you're coming by train or want to explore without the car.
You're right on the edge of Perthshire, so walking and cycling are right from the door. There's storage for bikes. For a day out, you've got The Hermitage nearby for a proper forest walk. Dunkeld Cathedral is worth a look. If you fancy a distillery tour, The Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret is about a 25-minute drive.
For facilities, it's got the basics covered: parking, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. There's a BBQ and garden furniture. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
