Ouston Oasis Beamish

This is our place near Beamish. It's called Ouston Oasis but honestly, it's a ground-floor apartment. We've done it up.

It sleeps four, but it's really one main bedroom and then a sofa bed in the living area. The sofa bed is a double. The bedroom has a proper double bed and a TV on the wall. There's one bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The wallpaper in the lounge has a sort of old-fashioned railway poster design. It's a nod to Beamish Museum, which is just up the road. The kitchen is separate, which is handy. It's got a washing machine. Everything's clean and works. It's got a 3 Star rating.

Outside, there's a small patio area with a table and chairs. You can park right outside.

The garage down the road has a shop inside it, it's about 50 metres away. There's a pub about 200 metres in the other direction. It does food.

For things to do, Beamish Museum is the big one, about a five-minute drive. You need a full day for it. Durham is 15 minutes by car. The cathedral is the main event. You can walk round the river. Seaham and the coast is about 20 minutes away. The beach at Crimdon is good for a walk.

If you're heading out, these sites are useful: Beamish Museum, Durham Cathedral, and North Pennines AONB.

Facilities wise: the Wi-Fi works, all bedding and towels are included, there's a cot if you need it, and there's parking. No pets, I'm afraid.
