The Briar Rose is a bungalow on a quiet street in Shiney Row. It's all on one level, which is good if you don't want stairs. The garden is enclosed, so it's private. There's parking right outside.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's warm and does the job. It's not huge, but it's fine for a small family or two couples.
You've got a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and the towels are included. No pets, sorry.
The local shop is a five-minute walk. There's a pub about a mile away that does food.
You're in a good spot for getting out. Beamish Museum is about ten minutes' drive. It's a good day out, especially with kids. Beamish.
Sunderland is ten minutes the other way. The coast is there, with Roker and Seaburn beaches. The National Glass Centre is worth a look.
Durham is twenty minutes away. The cathedral and castle are the main draw. Nice for a wander and something to eat. Durham Cathedral.
Newcastle is about half an hour. You've got all the city stuff there, the shops, the Quayside, the Sage. The Metrocentre is about twenty minutes if you want shopping.
If you want to go further, the Northumberland coast, Hadrian's Wall, and the Durham Dales are all within an hour's drive. Northumberland National Park.
