Lapwing Cottage

Lapwing Cottage is a bungalow on our farm. It's all on one level, which is good if you don't want stairs. There's a ramp up to the door. The bathroom has grab rails and a seat in the shower, so it's fairly accessible. The farm is about 200 acres. You're welcome to walk the paths we've got.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable. It's open plan inside, so the living room and kitchen are together. There's a wood burner if you want to use it.

You've got your own patio area outside with a table and chairs. There's a barbecue there too. The view is over fields. It's quiet. You'll hear sheep.

The cottage has WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's parking right outside and an electric vehicle charger.

You're down a lane here, so the nearest shop and pub are about two miles away in the village. The pub does food.

For things to do, Beamish Museum is very close, maybe ten minutes by car. It's good. Newcastle and Gateshead are about twenty minutes away. The Sage and the Baltic are there if that's your thing. Durham is about ten miles. The cathedral is worth seeing. The cricket ground is nearby too.

You're in a good spot for getting out. The Durham Dales are twenty minutes west for walking. Northumberland and the coast are under an hour north. Hadrian's Wall is in that direction too.

Useful links if you're planning: National Trust Northumberland Coast, and for Hadrian's Wall you'd look at English Heritage. For the local area, Visit County Durham has information.
