Winthorp is a detached house in Old Romney, on Romney Marsh. It's mostly fields here. The skies are big. It's quiet. You can see St. Augustine's Church from the end of the lane.
The house sleeps eight in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, plus a downstairs loo. One bedroom has its own shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a good size for a family or a few couples.
The main thing here is the indoor pool. It's in its own building attached to the house. There's also a sauna. And there's a separate room with a pool table and bookshelves, so you've got space to spread out.
Outside is a patio garden with a BBQ. It's enclosed. There's parking right outside for a couple of cars.
For facilities, you've got the obvious: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair and stairgate if you need them. You can bring two dogs.
The local pub is about a ten minute walk. It serves food. For a shop, you'll need to drive to New Romney or Hamstreet, which are about ten minutes away.
Dungeness is a 15 minute drive. It's a strange, flat shingle landscape. The RSPB reserve is there if you like birdwatching. The coast at Greatstone is about the same distance for a sandy beach.
Rye is 20 minutes away. It's an old town with cobbled streets. The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway starts in Hythe, about 20 minutes drive. It's a small steam train that goes across the marsh to Dungeness. Kids tend to like it.
