Cranbourne Chase Stargazer Pentridge

Cranbourne Chase Stargazer is on our farm, Whitey Top Farm, near Pentridge. It's a new, detached lodge. There are two other lodges here, but they're spaced well apart so you've got your own space.

It sleeps four, but really it's best for two adults, maybe with two older children. There's a kingsize bedroom downstairs and another up on a mezzanine. The stairs up to it are open-tread and quite steep, so it's not suitable for young children. Under sevens aren't allowed, for safety.

The main room is open plan. Kitchen, living area, with an electric stove that looks like a wood burner. There's a TV and WiFi. The bathroom has a good shower. Outside, there's a private patio with a hot tub.

The main thing here is the night sky. We're in the Cranborne Chase National Landscape International Dark Sky Reserve. On a clear night, you can see the Milky Way. We can lend you a telescope if you ask beforehand.

You're on a working dairy farm, so you might see the cows. For walking, you're right on the edge of the Martin Down National Nature Reserve. Lots of paths right from the door. The New Forest is about 20 minutes' drive to the east.

If you want a day out, the south coast beaches are about 40 minutes south. Salisbury is about half an hour north. Places like Longleat or Monkey World are within a 30 to 40 minute drive.

Facilities: it has a dishwasher, washing machine, parking right outside. All bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.
