The Riding House
The Riding House is in Wimborne St Giles, on the St Giles House estate. It sleeps eighteen people, which is a lot. There are eight bedrooms, all with their own bathroom.
It was renovated a few years ago. It’s a big, stone building from the 1600s. Inside, it’s set up for groups. There's a large living room with sofas and a wood burner, and a dining room with long tables.
The kitchen is a proper catering kitchen, because it’s used for events. You can arrange to have a caterer come in if you contact the house manager beforehand.
All the bedrooms are different. They each have a kingsize bed and an ensuite bathroom with both a bath and a walk-in shower.
You have about 5,500 acres of parkland to walk around. The local village, Wimborne St Giles, has a shop and a pub. They’re a couple of miles away.
The coast is about twenty miles, so you’d need to drive. Poole and Bournemouth are that way. Cranborne Chase is on the doorstep for walking. You can also visit Kingston Lacy or drive to the New Forest, both within half an hour.
In terms of what’s there: bedding and towels are included, there’s WiFi, parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a cot. You can bring up to two dogs. The rating is 5 Star.
