The Stables is on our small farm in Martin. It's a single-storey barn conversion, which means everything's on the ground floor. Sleeps four, with two bedrooms and a bathroom.
It's quiet here. The farm is in a conservation area, right next to Martin Down. You can walk straight out onto the Down from the gate. On the farm, we've got chickens, horses, ponies, and some sheep in the fields. You're welcome to walk up and see them.
The property itself is clean and comfortable. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. Outside, there's a private sitting area at the front, and you can also use the tables and chairs in the orchard. We've got a bike store, a BBQ, and a croquet set you can use.
The village has a small community shop that opens mornings and some afternoons. The nearest pub is about three miles away, in Rockbourne.
You're well placed for getting out. The New Forest boundary is about a six mile drive. Salisbury is eight miles away, with the cathedral and the shops. If you want the coast, Bournemouth's beaches are about a forty minute drive.
For things to do, the New Forest National Park website is good for walking and cycling routes. Martin Down National Nature Reserve is right on the doorstep.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, I'm afraid.
