The Stables is in Martin, Hampshire. It's a single-storey barn conversion, so everything's on the ground floor. There's a second cottage, The Saddle Room, next door. It shares the main grounds.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well looked after. It’s light inside, and there's no staircase.
It's on a small farm. You can walk around and see the chickens, horses, ponies, and sheep in the fields. There's a little private sitting area at the front of the barn, plus tables and chairs out in the orchard. You can use the barbecue and croquet set.
The village shop is community-run. It opens a few times a day on weekdays and Saturday mornings. The nearest pub is about three miles away.
You're right on the edge of Martin Down National Nature Reserve. The Cranbourne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is all around. It’s good for walks and cycling straight from the door.
Salisbury is about eight miles. The New Forest boundary is about six miles away, near Godshill where you'll see the ponies. Fordingbridge is a bit further, good for a walk by the river.
Within a 30 minute drive you've got Salisbury Cathedral, the New Forest itself, and the start of the Dorset coast. For a longer day out, Stonehenge, the Tank Museum at Bovington, and the beaches at Bournemouth are all under an hour.
Facilities wise: there's a woodburner, a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets.
