Yew Tree Cottage

Yew Tree Cottage is in Burythorpe. It's a really old terraced cottage, about four hundred years I think. It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is fair. It's clean and comfortable.

You come in through a stone hallway. There's a downstairs toilet and space for coats. The washing machine is in there too. The kitchen has French doors out to the garden. It's got everything you need: an induction hob, a dishwasher. There's a table and a small sofa.

You go down a couple of steps into the living room. It's low-ceilinged with old beams. There's a wood burner, which makes it very cosy in the evenings. The TV is a Smart one. The stairs are steep and a bit narrow, as you'd expect.

Upstairs, there's a double bedroom and another with a super kingsize bed that can be made into twins if you ask beforehand. The windows are low because of the age of the place. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it.

The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got kids. It's not huge but it's nice. There's a patio with a table and some flower beds.

Right across the road there's a village pub. They do good food. The ruins of Kirkham Abbey are very close, just a short walk. It's a good spot for walks along the river.

You're well placed for getting out. Malton is about ten minutes by car. It's a market town with lots of food shops and a monthly food festival. Castle Howard is probably a fifteen minute drive. The North York Moors aren't far, maybe twenty-five minutes to the edge. York is under half an hour away if you fancy a city day.

In terms of what's here: there's parking on site, WiFi, a cot and a highchair available. Sorry, no pets.
