The Spud Shed is a converted potato store on our working farm. It’s just outside the village of Beercrocombe, about ten minutes' drive south of Taunton.
It sleeps two adults. One bedroom, one bathroom. It’s a 4 Star place, so it’s comfortable and well-equipped. The building is single-storey and all on one level, no steps inside.
You’ve got your own patio area with a table and chairs. It looks south over the fields. There’s parking right next to it, and an electric vehicle charger if you need one.
Inside, there’s a kitchen area with a small oven and hob, fridge, and washing machine. The main room has a table and a sofa facing the TV. There’s WiFi. The bed is a king size. Everything is included: bedding, towels, electricity.
Being on a farm, you’ll see tractors and the cows in the fields. Sometimes you hear owls at night. If you have a well-behaved dog, that’s fine. Just one, please.
The village has a pub, The Farmer’s Arms, which is a ten minute walk up the lane. They do food. For a bigger shop, you go to Taunton.
If you want to explore, The Quantock Hills are close by for walking. The coast at Weston-super-Mare is about 45 minutes by car. Glastonbury Tor is about 30 minutes away. For local history, places like Hatch Court or the National Trust properties in the area are worth a visit.
