Lurach House is in Port Appin. It's a small place, just a few houses, a shop, and a couple of restaurants at the end of a single-track road. The cottage is detached and looks directly out over Loch Linnhe.
It's a four-star property, so it's comfortable and well-fitted. Sleeps four, two bedrooms, two bathrooms. Both bedrooms are upstairs. Downstairs is open-plan with a wood burner and a kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine. The view is the main thing. You look straight out at the water, the lighthouse, the Isle of Lismore, and the Morvern hills.
Right in front of the house there's a field. You'll see sheep. There are also two pet llamas. They're curious and often come over to the fence.
The local community-run shop is handy. There's a pub called the Pierhouse and another good restaurant, Airds Hotel, both a short walk away. For a day out, you can get the ferry from the pier over to Lismore. It's a quiet island, good for walking or cycling. There's a cafe there too.
Oban is about a 30-minute drive south. Lots of good seafood places. Glencoe is about 30 minutes north if you want to see the mountains. Fort William is a bit further on. From there you can get the Jacobite steam train, the one that goes over the Glenfinnan viaduct, to Mallaig.
Facilities: everything's included. Bedding, towels, electricity. There's parking, wifi, and a garden area. No pets allowed. It's on its own, but there's another cottage next door if you needed to book for a larger group.
