2 Point Steadings

2 Point Steadings is on Lismore, a long, low island in Loch Linnhe. It's a stone semi-detached cottage, basically right on the shore. The view from the front looks straight out over the water to Port Appin on the mainland.

It sleeps six across three bedrooms upstairs, one double and two twins. There's one bathroom, which is downstairs. The rating is 4 Star. It's been done up from an old farm building. The stairs are normal, not especially steep.

You're right by the little pier for the foot-passenger ferry from Port Appin. That's the main thing about the location. You can walk onto the ferry, cross to the mainland in a few minutes, and you're right there for the Appin shops and a good meal, then walk back. You don't need the car for that.

The living space is all open-plan downstairs. There's a wood burner, which is the main source of heat, and electric heaters as backup. The kitchen has a big farmhouse table. Patio doors lead out to a side garden, which is enclosed.

Outside, there's a covered seating area at the front to sit and look at the view, and that side garden. Parking is right there.

The island itself is quiet. The single-track road that runs its length is good for cycling. There's a shop, a post office, and a cafe at the Heritage Centre. You can hire bikes here too.

For a bigger day out, Oban is about a 40-minute drive including the car ferry from the south of the island. Fort William and Glencoe are within an hour's drive north. The landscape around here is the main attraction.

Facilities included are all listed: wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, cot, highchair, stairgate. Bedding and towels are provided. You can bring up to two pets.
