Island Seaview Villa is in Craigmore, on the Isle of Bute. It's a big Victorian house from the 1860s. It sleeps sixteen, which tells you the scale of it. Six bedrooms, four bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating. It's grand, but it's a family house.
The living room has a wood burner and a baby grand piano. The kitchen is large, with a table for six, a beer fridge and a wine fridge. The utility room leads out to the spa and wellness centre.
That's a separate building. It has a swim-spa for exercise, a smart sauna, a pool table, table tennis, and a darts board. They're adding a shower and toilet in there, and a small cocktail bar area, but that work won't get in your way.
The garden is enclosed. There's a fire pit, a barbecue, and you can watch the yachts on the Clyde from there. You get one well-behaved pet.
Bute itself is good for beaches and walking. The West Island Way is popular. You can see the architecture at Mount Stuart, or the old chapel at St Blane's. There's birdwatching, and sometimes you see seals or dolphins from the shore. There are three golf courses on the island. Fishing is available on Loch Fad, where you can hire a boat.
Rothesay is the main town, about ten minutes by car. It has shops, places to eat, and a castle. For a day out, you can get the ferry from Wemyss Bay to Gourock, then it's about 45 minutes drive into Glasgow.
Facilities: everything on the list is there. Washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's plenty of parking on the drive.
