Chandlers Apartment

This is Chandlers Apartment in Ascog, on the Isle of Bute. It's a detached ground-floor apartment that sleeps ten people. You get the whole place to yourselves.

It has four bedrooms and each one has its own en-suite bathroom. That's the main thing, really. It's rated 5 Star which means it's well-equipped and finished to a high standard.

It's right by the water, about fifty yards from the shore. There's a private patio area with outdoor furniture that looks out over the sea. The view is across the open water. It's very quiet here.

Bute is a good island for getting started with the west coast. The ferry from Wemyss Bay to Rothesay takes about thirty-five minutes and you can drive straight on. Rothesay is the main town, about three miles from here. It has shops, places to eat, and Rothesay Castle.

If you want to walk, the West Island Way covers the whole island. For a beach, Scalpsie Bay is nice and often has seals. Mount Stuart house and gardens are worth a visit if that's your sort of thing.

You can take the short ferry from Rhubodach to Colintraive on the mainland. From there you can drive up to Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. The ferries over to Islay and Jura leave from Portavadie, which is about an hour's drive around the coast.

Facilities: it has a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets.
